"And still I am learning..." Michaelangelo
It all began with a crayon....as a child, I began an exciting artistic journey of discovery through writing creative short stories. Self expression was enhanced through drawing characters of those stories. I learned to appreciate the God-given beauty around me through respect of Native family traditions. With these stories I began an artistic "journey" to portray the delicate balance between man and his surroundings.
The journey continued...Much later, I acquired a BFA in fine art and studio painting. Concentrating on oil painting, I specialized in Western, Native American, and Wildlife art.
Other skills came-I became a sculptor in the lost-wax process of bronze casting. Workshop instructor...juror...award winner in several national art shows--a never-ending, but rewarding journey that continues to bring rewards of great satisfaction.
I still find an air of immense excitement when standing before my easel. The smell of oils, the challenge of balancing unity, rhythm of line, color harmony spells "adventure." With every new adventure comes another moment of learning. Having brush in hand and with anticipation, I feel much like a conductor poised before his orchestra!
It is my hope that the viewer will enjoy these works as a testament of the "handiwork" of God. Thank you for spending time with me....
